Reports To: Building Principal

Job Goals:   Instructs children in a caring and nurturing environment, and in activities designed to meet the needs of students in social, physical, and academic growth in the content area of science.

Essential Functions include the following, but other duties may be assigned by the building principal.

Content expertise in all areas of responsibility.
The ability to effectively plan and prepare lessons.
The ability to identify student learning and interest needs, and differentiate instruction to meet these needs.
The ability to select, focus, and assess learning goals that are clearly tied to state standards.
The ability to select assessment instruments that accurately measure learning, progress in learning, and in a timely fashion.  This includes the ability to effectively monitor and adjust learning goals and activities.
The ability to create a caring and nurturing environment, and a culture conducive for learning.
The ability to manage classroom behavior and procedures to maximize learning.
The ability to effectively work with colleagues, parents, students, and others, and to grow professionally.  This includes the ability to effectively work as a team member towards accomplishing school and learning goals.
And any other duties as deemed necessary by their supervisor.
 

Qualification Requirements:  To perform this job successfully, individual must be certified by the State of Indiana in teaching area(s). Education and/or Experience:  Four-year College or university program teacher certification.

Organization Skills:  Ability to effectively prioritize and get responsibilities of the job done in a timely fashion.

Terms of Employment:  184 days. Salary is determined by the RBBCSC Compensation Model, based on degree, years of teaching experiences, and on a salary basis.
